Will the Democrats win the Michigan Senate race in 2026?

This market will resolve according to the winner of the 2026 midterm Michigan U.S. Senate election, inclusive of any run-offs. A candidate shall be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic or Republican nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) may be added at a later date. Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party. The candidates may be named in the contract for the convenience of traders. In the event that any named candidate is replaced as the nominee of their respective party prior to election day, the name in the contract will be updated and the market will resolve based on the replacement nominee of the party. The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.

Executive summary

Agents61 70% vs market 79% (gap -9%) on “Will the Democrats win the Michigan Senate race in 2026?”. Medium confidence; resolution risk Medium.

Why the market may be wrong

  • Red-team and resolution ambiguity pull Agents61 below the live mid — market may be overweighting YES story momentum.
  • Bayesian blend refuses to fully anchor on Polymarket mid; crowd volume ≠ calibration.
  • Politics: polls, turnout models, and resolution wording (who counts as winner) dominate.

Why the market may be right

  • Live mid 79% is backed by $2.7M volume — informed flow may already be priced.
  • YES mid 79% with $2.7M notional. Crowded tape ≠ calibrated probability; thin books exaggerate gaps. Use mid as a prior, not a truth.
  • If settlement rules match the headline question tightly, crowd calibration is more trustworthy.

Bull / YES evidence

  • Market still assigns 79% to YES with $2.7M volume — the path is considered live.
  • Politics: polls, turnout models, and resolution wording (who counts as winner) dominate.
  • Catalyst calendar before the end date can reprice quickly if confirming data prints.

Bear / NO evidence

  • Kill-shots: (1) resolution text does not match the intuitive question, (2) data used is stale vs end date, (3) narrative double-counts the same catalyst already in the mid.
  • Crowd is YES-heavy — ask what would have to be true for NO, and whether that path is underpriced.
  • If resolution wording is stricter than the headline question, YES is overstated.

Key catalysts

  • · Official data / decisions before Nov 4, 2026
  • · Major headline that changes the settlement-relevant fact pattern
  • · Liquidity shock on Polymarket that moves mid without new information

Invalidation conditions

  • Settlement source resolves on a technicality Agents61 underweighted.
  • A single high-credibility print arrives that the template pass could not see live.
  • Market mid was already incorporating private or faster information.

  • · Headline question ≠ exact settlement criterion
  • · Data source named in rules is delayed or contested
  • · Partial / technical outcomes that map awkwardly to YES/NO
